Parepare is a hub small city which has great potential for development. Due to its location, Parepare is well known as both “transit” and “education” city. Culturally, the citizens of Parepare are very diverse not only in ethnicities but also in religious beliefs. Hence, diversity is part of the unique identity of Parepare.
Through this 57th Anniversary, I hope Parepare will continue to promote diversity, peace, and respect within the community as part of the concept global citizen. Economically, I hope the citizens of Parepare will continue to support local businesses by buying more home grown or home made products (food, handicraft, clothing, etc).
Additionally, I would like to encourage the local government to provide good qualities of education at schools and to invest more on human resources by facilitating more underprivilege students to have higher education.
